Well, add Topaz to my hop schedule for my single hop homebrews. Finishes with a medium citrus pith bitterness. Carbonation is rather high but the beer sips very smoothly and comes off as crisp. MF- Puffy and creamy consistency leads to some chewy feelings on the palate. Juicy melon, tangerine, ruby red grapefruit sharpness, orange, pineapple, floral and spicy hops. T- The musty dank herbal feeling carries over from the aroma and is central to the entire flavor profile which once again is dominated by the Topaz excluding yeast and malts besides slight cereal grains and bread. ![]() Tangerine, grapefruit, clementine, pineapple and floral hops create most of the moderately strong aroma. I get lots of apricot and pineapple, but also fresh cut pine. There’s a nice juxtaposition in the aroma of tropical fruits and dank resiny hops. Pours a mostly cloudy golden yellow with 2 fingers of frothy white head that slowly recedes to a cap and leaves rings of lacing This will also be a nice break from all of the NEIPAs I’ve been having from my case of Tree House, which are fantastic, but my palate is fatigued and I’m craving something classic One Hop This Time: Idaho 7 is a American IPA style beer brewed by Night Shift Brewing in Everett, MA.
